Competition Etiquette

 

For Parents, Audience Members and Coaches
  1. Show respect for those volunteering their time to help the competition run smoothly, such as door people and marshals and obey their rules.
  2. Observe theatre rules on where you can eat or drink.
  3. Respect participants and fellow audience members by not talking whilst a team is on stage.
  4. Give recognition to all teams who perform on the stage, but remember not to call out the team name.
  5. Do not comment on any competitors on stage, every performer is trying their best and you might offend someone sitting close by.
  6. Be quiet around the stage area, as you can be heard from most dressing rooms and in the audience.
  7. Keep all your belongings together as others are using the dressing room.
  8. Personal items and valuables should be left with a representative from your club. Brisbane Cali Competition and its ancillary organisations/committees, will not be responsible for any lost items.
  9. Stay in the theatre for all speeches and aggregate presentations.
  10. Clean and tidy the dressing rooms at the completion of the competition.
  11. Do not talk to the adjudicator during the competition, even if you know her.
  12. All electronic devices are to be switched off in the theatre.
  13. Do not move around the theatre during an item.
  14. Observe all smoke-free designated areas.
For Competitors
  1. Tracksuits and shoes should be worn in the theatre at all times.
  2. Wear tracksuit pants or leggings and socks for warming up.
  3. Do not lean or press against the walls when wearing leg tan or lipstick.
  4. Do not verbally criticise your fellow competitors or the adjudicator.
  5. For the comfort of those around you, you should refrain from walking around backstage in your body suit or underwear.
